First time, please be gentle.

I have never kept a blog in my life. I must admit, when I first saw that we would have to keep a blog for this course I was terrified. I've never been one to express myself so openly especially in written form, but since dropping the course is out of the question I will just have to push through.

In this blog I will be detailing my experiences with CSC236 at the University of Toronto, every struggle and every triumph. As life has shown me many times, before you can be victorious you must be challenged, so today I will talk about the challenges I've had in the first few weeks of this course.

Going into this course, I knew I would have to put in some extra effort. My performance in the prerequisite course CSC165 was far from extraordinary. The first assignment put me in a bad place; I don't know what everyone else thought of it but I found it extremely difficult and it didn't help that my ignorance left me too little time to complete it in. I was about ready to drop this course going into the first term test, but I left feeling more confident. Although I ran out of time on the final question because I was 5 minutes late (room mix-ups), I found that the answers came to me much more easily. Hopefully over the coming weeks, with a lot of hard work, I can make it through the rest of the course with similar success.

As a side note, you should know that I've never been good at keeping up with my work, and it shows. Just look at the date stamp on this blog post and you will see it is several days late. While not strictly restricted as a challenge to this course, it is a challenge that I must overcome, and I better overcome it soon.

That's all for now, thanks for reading and I'll see you next week.
